Passionately Curious

Madeline Rains, Health Coach

I have been researching, experimenting, consulting with experts and listening to anything regarding nutrition, for three decades. I was married to an organic vegetable farmer for twenty years. I am also a certified Integrative Nutrition Coach.

This journey has been inspired by my own health crisis. I was diagnosed with the Epstein Barr virus at 25, with no protocol given for what to do to get well. Zapped of my usual vibrant energy, I had to leave my acting career in NY and move home. Then, a few years later, my mother died. She was unable to get answers, from many doctors, as to why she had woken up one day unable to walk. She had been a fit dance teacher. She died a few months later during a lung biopsy.

This was the beginning of my realization that we have to be our own health advocates. We need to work with doctors with an awareness of our own bio-individuality. Before we even go to doctors or healers, we can proactively bolster our family’s immune systems with the food and lifestyle choices that we make.

I am grateful to have had a health crisis that pushed me to learn so much about nutrition before I got pregnant and fed my own children. Now that my own kids are grown, I love helping others with chronic wellness issues. And, I am passionate about helping mothers (or those looking towards motherhood) to be proactive with their family’s health.

What is your story? I would love to hear.
